Saturdays of the Souls - Ψυχοσάββατα
The two Saturdays preceding Lent and the first Saturday of Lent the Church commemorates our departed forebears, relatives and Friends with Special Memorial Prayers

  • March 15- The Divine Liturgy will take place at St Nicholas Chapel at Rose Hills Cemetery. Fr. John will visit Graves at Rose Hills following Services.

Prosfora Workshop
Due to popular demand, the Ladies of the Philoptochos will offer a Prosfora Workshop on Friday, March 14, 2008 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Come and learn to bake prosfora from the experts. No Experience necessary!

Donations for Flowers to Decorate the Church During Holy Week will be collected by Sasha Vithoulkas beginning on Sunday, March 9 after Church Services

Following the Liturgy, Father John will hold a group discussion on Holy Week from 7:30-8:30 p.m (English). Topics are as follows:

  • March 12 Saturday of Lazarus and Palm Sunday
  • March 19 Holy Monday, Holy Tuesday, Wednesday
  • March 26 Holy Thursday
  • April 2 Holy Friday
  • April 9 Holy Saturday and Pascha

Salutations - Χαιρετισμή
Every Friday we will celebrate the salutations of the Theotokos. Everyone is invited to join Father John for a Family Night get together before the Services. Father John will be speaking to the children and adults on specific topics (English) while sharing dinner with them. After the services, all of the adults are invited to share their thoughts with Father John over coffee and dessert (Greek).

  • April 19 - Saturday of Lazarus - Του Λαζάρου

    • 11:30-12:00 Continental Breakfast
    • 12:00-3:00 PM Activities for the Children: Basket Making, Egg decorating, Making Palm Crosses, Learning Hymns for Pascha. Adult Activities: Fashioning of palms crosses, Decorating Church for Sunday. Join Father John for an afternoon of fun as we learn about Holy week through Arts and Crafts. Spend an afternoon with fellow parishioners as we prepare Saint George for Palm Sunday.
  • April 20 - Palm Sunday - Των Βαϊων
    • 9:00 Orthros
    • 10:00 Divine Liturgy
      Palm crosses distributed to the congregation at the end of the service
    • 11:45 AM Palm Sunday Luncheon
    • Luncheon served after Church services sponsored by the parish council
      Donation: $10.00 adults; $5.00 children

    • 8:00 AM Preparation of flowers for the Epitaphio
    • 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM Please join us in the morning as we prepare all the flowers needed to decorate the Epitaphio and decorate Saint George for the afternoon and Evening Service. All work must be completed no later than 2:00 p.m.

  • April 26 - Holy Saturday- Μεγάλο Σάββατο
    • 9:00 AM Vesperal Liturgy of Saint Basil known as the “First Anastasi”
      This is perhaps the most beautiful of all the services of Holy Week. You must be present in the Church no later than 9:45 to capture the full effect and majesty of this service. Don’t forget your bells.
  • April 27 - GREAT AND HOLY PASCHA - ΜΕΓΑΛΟ ΚΑΙ ΙΕΡΟ ΠΑΣΧΑ
    Saturday Evening (April 26)
    • 11:00 PM Canon of the Resurrection
    • 11:45 PM “Come Receive the Light”- Service of the Resurrection "2nd Divine Liturgy"
    • *** NEW FAMILY EVENT ***
      1:30 AM Magiritsa and Avgolemono Soup following the Service in our Parish Hall-sponsored by the Parish Council
  • April27 - Sunday Morning
    • 11:00 AM “Come Receive the Light” Vespers of Agape and St George. The Gospel passage John 20:19-25 in various languages of the world. Please see Fr. John to be put on the list to read the Gospel.
    • 11:45 AM Scavenger Egg Hunt for all the children following Church Services sponsored by the Parish Council
  • April 28 - Bright Monday - Feast of Saint George - Του Αγίου Γεωργίου
    • 9:15 Orthros
    • 10:00 AM Divine Liturgy. Lunch reception following the services
