Yianni Koumoudouros left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. His life was filled with faith, love for his family, and deep friendships that continue to inspire those around him.
Although Yianni’s life was tragically cut short, his story does not end there.
The Yianni Project was created to honor his memory and carry forward the values he lived by — faith, family, and friends — by building something meaningful for future generations at St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
What Is the Yianni Project?
The Yianni Project is a community-driven initiative dedicated to preserving Yianni’s legacy through service, connection, and growth.
More than a tribute, it is a living vision — one that brings people together, strengthens community bonds, and creates opportunities for future generations to gather, learn, and grow in faith.
Everything about this project reflects the way Yianni lived: with warmth, generosity, and a spirit that brought people together.
Our Vision for the Future
The Yianni Project is not only about remembrance — it is about building something that serves the community for generations to come.
The long-term goal is to develop a community center at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, which may include:
- A multipurpose hall
- A gymnasium
- Classrooms for education and youth programs
- A kitchen for community events
- Offices and meeting spaces
- Conference rooms
Yianni’s Story
Ioannis “Yianni” Konstandinou Koumoudouros was born on June 8, 1989, to Kostoula and Kostas Koumoudouros. From an early age, Yianni was known for his bright smile, kind heart, and ability to uplift everyone around him.
He had what his family lovingly described as the “trifecta” — personality, intelligence, and presence.
On November 14, 2016, Yianni tragically passed away in a car accident at the age of 27.
While his passing was a profound loss, his spirit continues to live on through the lives he touched and through this project, which ensures his legacy will continue to serve others.
