Our Mission

On Sunday, September 16, 2018 the General Assembly of Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in Downey California approved a resolution calling for the establishment of a building fund committee named “Building Fund 3 – Yianni Project” to begin work on the next phase of development of the property church property located at 10830 and 10846 Downey Avenue. The goal of the “Yianni Project” committee is to develop conceptual drawings and designs or a building(s) that includes a hall, gymnasium, classrooms, kitchen, offices, and conference rooms. Fundraising efforts of this committee will pay for this goal and the building project, to be approved by the General Assembly. The gymnasium, which will be included in the first construction phase will be dedicated to and named in the memory and honor of Yianni Koumoudouros.
